ʻAʻa i ka hula, waiho ka hilahila ma ka hale.
When one wants to dance the hula, bashfulness should be left at home.

Who We Are
Our Foundation
Kaulana Nā Pua (KNP) is a Nonprofit Corporation established to serve in the healing of youth ages 10 -25, in our community through the arts of hula, chant, and teaching of Hawaiian culture, values and tradition. Our mission and vision are to help our most prone population of youth vulnerable to drugs, alcohol, and teen suicide find their self-worth and self-esteem through the arts of hula, chant, and Hawaiian culture. By keeping youth off the streets and teaching values, we believe that young people will begin to make a difference in our community by sharing and giving back as a pono (right-standing) youth who in-turn become pono adults.

Mālama Kūpuna-Taking Care of our Elders
Helping The Community
With this initiative, our goal is to promote opportunities for youth to assist those in need. With the aloha for our kūpuna or our elders, we find that providing the youth with opportunity to ʻgive backʻ in our community gives them a sense of ALOHA for our people and our past.
Hawaiian Culture and Traditions with Hula as a foundation.
Impact Youth
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to help our youth build confidence and self-esteem, through hula and finding their identity as a Kanaka Maoli ʻōpio, Hawaiian youth.
Kūpuna Projects
One Kūpuna at a Time
At Kaulana Nā Pua, Inc., we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Kūpuna Projects is by no means an easy feat, but through our kūpaʻa or commitment, we can make an effort to help our kupuna in our communities by helping out where they cannot do for themselves.
Ka Moʻolelo-The Story
He hiʻi alo ua milimili ʻia i ke alo, ua hāʻawe ʻia ma ke kua, ua lei ʻia ma ka ʻāʻī.
A beloved one, fondled in the arms, carried on the back, whose arms have gone about the neck like a lei. Said of a beloved child.
Here at Kaulana Nā Pua, Inc., we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further achieve our cause. Since 2019, we’ve been supporting our kamaliʻi in a variety of ways and measuring our success not by monetary size, but by more qualitative measurements such as the scale and effectiveness of our efforts. Just imagine what we can achieve together!

‘A‘ohe hana nui ke alu ‘ia.
No task is too big when done together by all.

Projects of our Past to take into our Future

Education of our Wahi Pana
Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve the stories of our kūpuna. One story tells of our older brother, Haloanakalaukapalili, the kalo plant and first Haloa. It is said that if you take care of the kalo, it will take care of you. To teach our ʻōpio to be sustainable on our island home has been a challenge to seek and mālama our lands, as there is many lands that have been over developed, yet we seek harder to find the right resources and people to partner with in our community.
Mālama ʻĀina
Through our Mālama ʻĀina projects, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Kaulana Nā Pua, Inc., and a source of much success for our Nonprofit Organization. To guide our keiki to be self sustainable through our native crops.

Cultural Exchange
Through cultural exchange we become to be more passionate of who we are, and where we are from
Cultural Connection
We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our keiki are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it. Through hula, ʻāina, moʻolelo, of our traditions and cultural history, we can begin to plant the seeds of pono, righteousness.
